    THE EVENT IS OVER!

In 2005, St. Louis Area Geocachers Association hosted one of the top events of the year. The Midwest Open Geocaching Adventure, MOGA, provided geocachers a weekend packed full of competitive challenges and treasure seeking opportunities.

In 2004, the Missouri Geocachers Association hosted the Midwest Invitational Geocaching Competition at Hawn State Park. There were over 100 participants from 7 different states. Some competitors came from as far away as New Jersey. There was a lot of positive feedback from this event and the event coordinators took notes.

Like Hawn State Park, the St. Louis Area Geocachers Association, SLAGA, picked another gem. The event was held at Meramec State Park and was cosponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Missouri State Parks. This prestigious park provided a breathtaking backdrop for the activities.

The dates of the events were April 8, 9 and 10, 2005. There were competitions, family activities, presentations, nature walks, and of course, Geocaching!

There were over 40 hidden caches in the park that kept the weekend full of fun! There were campsites and cabins for rent. Sullivan Missouri, about 4 miles from the park, had some great accommodations as well.

Tim and Pam Ueltzen of Washington, Mo were the hosts of this event. Tim and Pam have worked hard to assemble a staff to support all the activities.
