Geo Jim

We lost our friend and fellow geocacher, Jim Everman (aka Geo Jim), on October 7, 2006. Jim was opinionated and loved to talk about his geocaching adventures and technology. It is very possible you have seen one of his signature trade items; a 'smashed' penny. He made an impression on many of us that we won't forget. We were fortunate to share one of his hobbies.

From Norma, Jim's wife:
"I wanted to let the St. Louis Area Geocachers know Jim passed away on October 7th. He was diagnosed with cancer last February and lived longer than the original predicted 6 months. His daughters and I are planning a memorial service in Los Angeles on his birthday in May. We are having his ashes put in fireworks, one of his favorite things to watch."

A post from Jim on August, 2004:
"I was in Hillsboro, Ohio this weekend staying with a friend and he let me use his number to call my ISP in StL to run a pocket query. I punished him by taking him out on a cache hunt. :-)"
