After Cachemas Shenanigans
After Cachemas Shenanigans
Ok, so I want to hold an event to celebrate the end of Cachemas 2011. I have spoken with a restaurant near my house ( Big Chief Roadhouse ) about holding an even there. But they were asking me about how many people would show up? They have an upstairs banquet room that holds about 45 people. Also I should add that I have reserved the banquet room for 7pm on Tuesday January 10. What do you guys think? I also would like some feedback as to whether or not a lot of people would eat there? If so they said that i should pick a few things from there menu as to not overwhelm there kitchen with a big group of people. Anyway, that's a lot of info to take in, your input would be appreciated. Lets work this out, I would love to get a few people together.
Re: After Cachemas Shenanigans
I think some folks will come ... and those who come will eat! But we won't be able to make it. It's hard to make events during the week because of work. This location would be close to an hour trip (each way) for us.
We hope to get our ornament some other time. Will you bring those to the Winter Potluck?

Re: After Cachemas Shenanigans
Ok, so i spoke with someone at Big Chief Roadhouse and we can do one of two things. We can have a limited menu which would consist of a few items. Chicken strips, Pasta, Or a Burger. All meals would include fries, a salad and a fountain drink for $15.99 each. Or we could get stuff off the catering menu, but in order to do that i would need to receive a few bucks from everyone who attended. They have a pretty large catering menu. Wings, salads, appetizer trays. There appetizer trays consist of Toasted ravioli, chicken strips, potato skins, bosco mozzarella breadsticks, chicken or steak quesadilla, or a vegetable platter. An office party pack which includes a large salad, 50 wings, 50 toasted ravioli and 2 large pizzas that will serve 12- 15 people. Let me know what you guys think. I need to let them know what we are doing for food by next Wednesday.
Re: After Cachemas Shenanigans
If it helps any, the last two restaurant-based SLAGA events were the Christmas party (Incredible Pizza in St. Peters) and the 11/11/11 event (Duffy's in Kirkwood). If I recall correctly, the Christmas party drew 60-65 people. Cost was $7.75 per person including tax and gratuity. I believe we got the "lunch" rates because we started at 4:00 pm. About 80 attended the 11/11/11 event. Cost was $10.95 per person plus tax and gratuity.
On the other hand, those were weekend events. You likely won't get quite as a big a turnout on a week night.
Depending on when you need it, the best way to get a head count is publish the event page with date, time and cost info. Beg everybody to log a will attend. You'll have to actually look at the will-attend logs in order to get an accurate count since a fair number will log a single will attend representing several people.
Be forewarned that you're letting yourself in for a bit of work if you have to collect money yourself. Manning the door cuts into eating and socializing time!
I see it's been published with partial details. We'll add it to the SLAGA calendar.
